Though it only comes around every two years, NOAC is an enormous endeavor that requires a lot of manpower and preparation year-round. As participants arrived yesterday, the staff went into full gear after spending days here at the University preparing the site for the more than 6,500 Arrowmen who are expected to attend the conference.
After months of preparation, the administration committee is in full swing. Its staff is overseeing a large part of NOAC, including security and the food service. It is also handling all the staff’s needs and currently has a needs list of approximately 1,270 line items.
Those folks milling about the conference in the orange hats are the staffers for the NOAC Security Force. They are here for the safety of all Scouts. |
The financial services committee – which some may know better as the NOAC Bank & Trust – is a mere 14-person crew, yet it will process more than 3,000 financial transactions throughout the conference. This group also has a field operations team that will help various NOAC committees with any financial needs.
Pellissippi #230 is the NOAC 2000 service lodge. The service lodge is here to provide manpower, transport needed materials and other items, and ensure a successful conference.
The medical services staff is providing full medical support to all Arrowmen during the week. The staff is made up of several doctors and emergency medical technicians. |
The staff members are here to make NOAC 2000 a tremendous experience for the participants, and they are willing to go the extra mile.
