The best entries of the lodge newsletter competition were displayed at the Founders’ Day festivities. This year, a record of 74 lodges entered the competition.
Each of the lodges turned in four newsletters published in the past 18 months to be judged on a variety of criteria, including layout, use of resources, regular publication and humor. The maximum score is 110 points. The competition’s criteria are designed to emphasize the need for well-written information that all lodge members need.
Judges said that of the lodge newsletters they reviewed, the regularity of publication has increased. They were also impressed with the feature letters and neatness of the lodge bulletins.
