Meet Brian Herren
Central Region Chief

Brian Howard Herren, is the 2002 Central Region Chief. Brian is 20 years old and from Whittier, Iowa. Brian, is a Vigil member of Cho-Gun-Mun-A-Nock Lodge #467 from Hawkeye Area Council #172 out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His Vigil name is Klamachpin Witschindin Woapalanne, translated as Quiet One Helper Eagle.

The 2002 Central Region Chief, Brian Herren. Brian has served on summer camp staff for five years, been to Philmont three times and participated in the OA Voyage twice. He attended the 2001 National Scout Jamboree and this will make his forth NOAC. Brian's best Scouting memory is his participation in the Philmont Trail Crew and Northern Tier OA Voyage programs. When not involved with Scouting or the OA, Brian enjoys rock climbing and kayaking. He also loves fishing and reminds himself of the Scout Law when telling others about "the one that got away".

Brian, is attending the University of Iowa where he will be a Junior this fall. There he is working on a double major in Finance and Management and hopes to one day own his own investment company. Brain, has one older sister and his father has helped him through Scouting as an Assistant Scoutmaster.

When asked what vision he had for the OA, Brian responded, "To let everyone know the endless opportunities that are out there in the OA and to just have a great time."
