Meet Brian Favat
2002 Northeast Region Chief

Brian John Favat, 20, is the 2002 Northeast Region Chief. Brian's hometown is Gibbsboro, New Jersey where he is a Vigil Honor member of Te'kening Lodge #37 in the Southern New Jersey Council. His Vigil name is Waletitten, which translates "One who informs others."

The 2002 Northeast Region Chief, Brian Favat. Among his many positions, Brain has served as Chief of Section NE-2A, section publications chairman, and Northeast Region website chairman. He also served on the OA Trail Crew at Philmont in 1998 and on the OA Service Corps at the 2001 National Scout Jamboree. Brian has received both the Founders Award and James E. West Fellowship. Brian's most memorable Scouting experience is the fun he had on a Wilderness Voyage at the Northern Tier Canoe Base in 2001.

Aside from Scouting and the OA, Brian enjoys soccer, music, movies and traveling. He also has a fascination with pointing out where professional sports teams play in the cities that he visits.

Brian is currently studying economics at Boston College's Carroll School of Management where he will be a Junior this fall. One day, Brian hopes to become an academic professor.

Brian has one younger brother and a sister. His father is an Eagle Scout and both his father and brother are members of the OA.

When asked what vision he had for the OA he said, "We need greater youth involvement in direct service and support to local councils."
