Use of Michigan State
Logos and Spartan Logo Prohibited
To: NOAC Contingent Leaders
From: Matt Walker, Conference Program Chairman
It has come to our attention that one or more of our lodges have contacted authorities at Michigan State University about using the well recognized MSU block logos (the block "S" Spartan emblem and block MSU letters) and the Spartan helmet or mascot on NOAC items or promotional literature. You need to be aware that this is an event being held at Michigan State University and not an event sponsored by MSU. Consequently we are not authorized and are strictly prohibited from using any recognized symbols of the university on anything including, but not limited to, web sites, T-shirts, hats, patches or printed promotional materials.
Please do not have any one from your Lodge contact the university concerning questions about the use of university logos or symbols in the hopes that they will treat you differently or you will be able to change their minds. If you have any questions or need help please contact Craig Ongley our NOAC counsel at webmaster@oa-bsa.org and he will do his best to assist you.
