NOAC provides a wide range of training for Scouters of all ages and experience. Sessions aim to educate Arrowmen allowing them to take ideas and information back to the lodge. Training sessions are offered every morning and cover outdoor skills, OA leadership, ceremonies, publications, American Indian Heritage, new technologies, and much more.

Scouting is known worldwide for its strong camping program. Arrowmen at NOAC have the opportunity to train in areas that enrich the knowledge of camping and outdoor activities. The Outdoor Adventure Place (TOAP) offered a special program in low impact camping. Information and assistance in this training program has come from many organizations including the Boy Scouts of America and the National Parks Service. This program has been helping Arrowmen like Patrick L. of El Dorado, Kansas come up with ideas to help out his newly formed Lodge, Kansa #198. Patrick said "There are a lot of great ideas that I can take back to my lodge in camping and hiking".

Leadership development is another large part of the training. Leadership sessions focus on educating current and future leaders by instilling the "lead by example" concept. A large number of training opportunities are offered at all levels. Ideas are presented and discussed on many levels - chapter, lodge, section, regional and national. The many participants can add a good cross-section of suggestions and thoughts to the many discussions.
Participants are provided with training sessions aimed at improving OA ceremonies from the Ordeal to the Vigil. Emphasis is placed on planning and practice with tips for memorization, pronunciation, gestures and physical preparations.

The American Indian heritage is very much a part of the NOAC. Classes and workshops provide ideas and training and hands on work with outfits, dancing, ribbon work, culture, dance instruction, regional singing, quillwork, leggings. Men's and women's' clothing, examples of Old Style, Traditional, Fancy, Straight, Grass and Gourd Dance overviews, outfit construction, silver and pewter work, applique and many other types of beading is shown and demonstrated

Publications training sessions provide many ideas for production of great lodge and section newsletter. Local resources are explored and suggested as ways to support and promote any publication. Communications must not be neglected, and training is designed to include everything from letter writing and verbal communication to the Internet and the World Wide Web.
NOAC's purpose to provide the best possible training opportunities for our Arrowmen so they are prepared for their duties as responsible citizens as well as Scouting leaders. All of these different varieties of training help us accomplish this goal.
