On Sunday, August 2, the Special Events Committee conducted service projects on the
Iowa State University campus. NOAC Participants volunteered for one of three projects: mulching
trees on campus, clearing brush near Elwood Drive, or trimming brush at the arboretum.
Over 600 Arrowmen had participated in these projects by mid afternoon and 200 more were
expected before the projects ended.

These images were found at the mulching site on central campus
where mulch from an ISU service vehicle was loaded into wheel barrows

And then taken to the base of nearby trees

Where it was spread around. |

This group of Arrowmen from Colonneh Lodge #137 in Houston,
Texas, were photographed after clearing brush near Elwood Drive in the afternoon rain ,
which was much appreciated after the recent heat wave in Houston! |

Their reward for their efforts was a 1998 NOAC Service Project
patch and the good feelings that come from cheerful service. |
