NOAC Under Water

Tuesday morning dawned with thick fog and grey skies.  By noon the fog had burned off to leave a humid but bright and sunny outdoors.  Then around 1pm the skies opened up on us.  Not even the rain keeps these Arrowmen from making it across campus.

Some of the prepared had raincoats and panchos ready at hand while others made due with trash-bags and some merely tried to outrun the droplets.  "The rain's not gonna stop us," said Bill J., a 17-year old participant from Tisquantum Lodge #164 "I'm here to have fun and I'm gonna do it" he continued.

Here's Mike S. (at left) from Pa-Hin Lodge #27.  He was prepared for the rain, even though it was sunny out when he left Towers (far, far away).  This is his third conference so he knew what to expect, though the rain didn't seem to phase him.   "It's so humid out it's not like you could tell the difference."   Don't worry about how he looks in this picture, that's just his way of keeping his backback dry.

Right behind Mike was Christian R. (at right), also from Lodge #27.   Here Christian demonstrates his "real men don't need rain-gear" philosophy (the truth is he left it in his room and didn't want to bring it with him--it smelled somewhat... unpleasant).  At the time we caught up with him he'd managed to dry off a little.

At least one Arrowman decided to test the limits of "A Scout is Clean"!
