Patch Trading

Patch trading is a frenzy at NOAC. As in many Scouting events the traders descend on almost any open area. Picnic tables, sidewalks, patches of grass, dining halls, back of vehicles, dorm rooms, and the official authorized trading areas.

Walking vs. Riding the Bus

The age-old mode of transportation, walking, is being used quite a bit around the campus here at NOAC. As well as the health benefits, walking gives you a chance to unwind, unless you are in a hurry. walker.jpg The sights and smells while walking give you a unique perspective of the university campus. The bus, on the other hand, is quicker and not nearly as much work. You get to meet many new people and participate in the "bus ride shuffle", a unique pastime that some people had never experienced. When asked why he was waiting for the bus, Ray M. of Witauchsoman #44 said "This is OA; we don't walk, we don't even sleep outside."

Open Recreation

The ISU Campus has opened many of its recreational facilities to the Arrowmen. Many have participated in swimming, basketball, volleyball, bowling, billiards, arcade games and many other forms of recreational activities. Some activities were organized and some were spontaneous, but the one thing they all had in common is "they were a lot of fun".
