Membership Day Preview
By: Kyle Hoffmann
Today we learned about the importance of creativity and imagination in overcoming challenges that we face as lodge leaders. We found new ways to employ our innovative side through methods like LeaderX. Some of us even had the opportunity to see innovation at work in other delegates during the NEXT Factor event. The skills we learned today will be invaluable to us when we return home to our lodge to face its problems.
Yet what are these problems that we are solving? Where are we applying our freshly honed skills of innovation?
Tomorrow, Membership Day, we identify where our Order is facing its toughest challenges. We will see what is going on when new members choose not to stick around after their ordeal. We will also explore how to keep members active, enthused and improving themselves to become better leaders.
Once we identify these issues, we will begin to tackle them. Membership Conference Vice Chief Matt Henry says that the membership team will be unveiling new resources that will assist delegates in finding ways to improve retention, improve elections and build a stronger lodge. “Delegates will leave with these resources as leaders who are better equipped to solve membership-related problems in their home lodges,” said Henry. For example, one of these resources, SURGE, will serve to give lodges improvement in their unit elections program. Another resource awaits too, but it will be so impactful that its secrets will be locked away until the time is right.
We have brought lodge leaders from across the country here to collaborate in solving problems with our membership that are encountered nationwide. Today, we became more creative and innovative in order to make this collaboration as productive as possible. And tomorrow, we begin our journey in producing solutions to these problems.
Get excited, Arrowmen! The largest challenges our Order faces today are ready to be conquered tomorrow.
