Goodbye From the 2012 NOAC Live! Team
Arrowmen, parents, and visitors,
As our 31th conference comes to a close, it is amazing to look back and think that only 7 short months ago “NOAC 2012″ was put on the drawing board in front of 47 section chiefs at the National Planning Meeting in Dallas, TX. The amount of fun, fellowship, new friendships, training, and brotherhood the participants at this year’s conference have shown is amazing, and is truly a memory of a lifetime.
National OA Endowment Legacy Fellowships
The Legacy Fellowship is the first opportunity for Arrowmen to make direct contributions to the national Order of the Arrow endowment. This endowment funds the National Chiefs and Vice Chiefs’ expenses, Lodge Service Grants, Josh R. Sain Memorial Scholarships, Order of the Arrow High Adventure programs, and national projects (ArrowCorps5, SummitCorps, etc.). Thank you to the Legacy Fellows listed below whose generous donations will leave a long legacy for the Order of the Arrow.
2015 NOAC
NOAC 2012 has only just come to an end, but preparations are already underway for the 2015 NOAC. When we gather for a NOAC next it will also be to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow. If you enjoyed this year’s NOAC, just imagine how much more amazing it will be in 2015! The location has yet to be determined.
But you don’t have to wait until 2015 for the next national event! Next year the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit. The OA will have staff opportunities for those of you interested on serving staff.
As always, check the National OA Web Site for more information. See you there!!!
Adventures at Scout Camp and The Legacy of Lord Baden-Powell
Summer camp at Camp M.K. Brown on the centennial anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America is the setting of Eleanor Clark’s novel, The Legacy of Lord Baden-Powell: Founder of Scouting. While the book explores the life and legacy of Scouting’s founder, the novel is far from a dry biography. “The book is an action adventure about Scouts earning merit badges, pulling pranks, telling ghost stories, and learning Scouting skills and values,” said Ms. Clark.
