Brotherhood Chorus to lift voices, spirits and more!

PreviousNext

By Dan Gross

Nearly 300 of our brothers have signed up to bring the gift of music to NOAC 2015, representing the largest Brotherhood Chorus in history. Not only will performers sing throughout the week, they will be vocalizing in both Italian and German as part of a 12 song repertoire. Other songs will include classics and inspirational pieces such as “America the Beautiful” and “Eternal Father, Strong to Save,” the official hymn of the US Navy.

Chorus members sign up before the conference to participate. They had to print their own sheet music and learn it ahead of time. Members also attend daily practices and performances, including at some of the most important events at the conference. Besides having exclusive access to the best of NOAC, chorus members will receive a limited edition neckerchief, slide and patch for participating.

“I was nervous at the start of practice, but now I am confident in our choir’s abilities and looking forward to our first performance,” said Bradford Olson, accompanist and Eagle Scout. Alan Eggleston directs the chorus and has done so for every NOAC since 1990, except in 2004. Assisting Eggleston are Tod Johnson, Carlene Dardas and Michael Kiesinger. Make sure to check out the Brotherhood Chorus at a NOAC event this week.
