Calisthenics and wristbands start mornings at NOAC

PreviousNext

By Brendan Switts

Four days ago, members of the morning calisthenics team stood in the rain, waiting for a package of extreme importance. Earlier that year, they ordered 50 wristbands to help arrowmen at NOAC identify their staff members, and the shipment had finally arrived. Suddenly, out of the mist, a truck of wristbands emerged. There it dumped its contents, creating an enormous pile. It measured 5,000 wristbands high, in a wide assortment of colors. Morning Calisthenics Chairman, Patrick Mapp, was present for the event. “I was extremely surprised to have had my original order increased tenfold,” said Mapp. “I need to get rid of them.”

Morning calisthenics are simple workouts and stretching exercises aimed to prepare Arrowmen for their exciting day at NOAC. These hourlong events will run from Tuesday to Friday and will give the option for participants to go to breakfast before of after the event. Starting at 7 a.m., Arrowmen will gather at their designated location to start their workout. The activity will be filled with music and fun. The routines will be hosted by a brilliant and energetic staff. Every Arrowman who goes to this event will also get one specialedition wristband for each day they attend, totaling in four possible wristbands.

Also, brand new at this NOAC, the morning calisthenics team is proud to announce the “Super Pumped Arrowman Award.” This award is only bestowed upon the most energetic, excited and motivated Arrowman at that morning session. Each recipient will be given one wristband with a smiley face embroidered on it. Every member of the morning calisthenics team encourages all Arrowmen to come out and attempt to receive this recognition.

Each housing area has a designated location for this exhilarating program, selected for the convenience of those attending. Those living in McDonel, Owens, Holmes, Akers or Hubbard, will find their calisthenics area at the IM East Athletic Field. Those staying in SnyderPhillips, MasonAbbot or Shaw, will go to the field between SnyderPhilips and MasonAbbot. Those staying in Mayo, Campbell, Williams, Landon or YakeleyGilchrist will find their calisthenics location in the field across from YakeleyGilchrist. Those staying in Wonders, Case, Wilson or Holden, will be at the Munn Intramural Field. And finally, those staying in Armstrong, Bailey, Emmons, Butterfield, Rather or Bryan, will be in the field in front of the Brody Center.

Staff present at the event will be wearing wristbands and tube socks. Keep an eye out for the calisthenics staff or any other staff member, and they will be happy to assist.

So come out, prepare for a tremendous day at NOAC and get some wristbands this week!
