How to Use Ascent
- Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the “NOAC Ascent” app.
- Log-in by getting your Ascent Code from the NOAC 2024 App. You should have received instructions the week before the conference about to log-in to the NOAC Guide app.
- Once you log-in to the Ascent app, tap your wristband against the other participants’ phones to connect!
- Check-in to events by tapping your phone on the tags at events to get points and check in
- You can also check-in to events by scanning a QR code.
- Cash in your points at the Ascent Prize Room, located in the Aspen Room in the UMC, to redeem your points and take home awesome prizes.
Ascent FAQs
Download the Ascent app. You can log-in to your account using the instructions emailed to the email address you used to sign-up for NOAC. Alternatively, go to the 2024 OA NOAC app and go to the “Ascent Information” page. Next, click on “My Ascent Code” where you will find the code you need to log-in to the Ascent App.
Yes, you can start connecting with other arrowmen by opening the Ascent app and then tapping your phone against the tag on their wristband. You can check-in in at activities by tapping the tag associated with the activity – just ask the staff where to find it. You can also check-in at events by scanning the QR code.
Connections in Ascent are mutual, so if someone taps your wristband with their phone OR you tap theirs, then your connection will appear on both of your timelines. Once you are connectee, you will be able to see their profile information and they will be able to see yours. You can also delete the connection from their profile screen; this will remove the connection from both of your timelines and you will no longer be able to see each others profiles.
Your account has already been created for you when you registered for NOAC. Just follow the instructions that were sent to the email you used to register for NOAC to access your account. Alternatively, go to the NOAC app and go to the “Ascent Information” page. There you will find the code you need to log-in to the Ascent App.
There are two ways to access your account. The first is by downloading the Ascent App from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. The second is by going online to NOAC2024.org and accessing the Ascent web portal from there. Instructions for how to log-in to your account were emailed to the email you used to register for NOAC. You will need a code to access your Ascent account. This can be found by going to the NOAC app and then visiting the “My Ascent Code” page. There you will find the code you need to log-in to the Ascent App.
Make sure you refresh the page. If your device did not have an internet connection when you tapped the tag, the check-in will be uploaded the next time you have an internet connection.
When you connect with an individual, they can see only the information that you have included in your profile. You can change the information in your profile at any time.
No, your information will not be used for commercial purposes. Note that some OA booths may have an option to check-in and share your information for future follow-up. These tags are clearly marked. If you do not want to receive follow-up communications, don’t check-in at these tags.

Every digital badge can only be earned once. You can interact with as many people as you’d like, but all the badges can only be earned once.
Yes! There are two ways to participate. You can borrow a friend or parent’s device and log-in with your account on their device to scan QR codes or tags. In the app, under “more”, just go to “Switch Attendee”. Enter the Ascent code you received in your welcome email to change profiles. Alternatively, you can write down the code printed under each QR code and manually enter it into your account when you have access to a computer or smartphone. The code for activities starts with “A-“ and is followed by an 8-digit alphanumeric identifier. And the code for people starts with “P-“ and is followed by an 8-digit alphanumeric identifier.
Any event check-ins you make or arrowmen you meet while you don’t have an internet connection will be saved and uploaded when you do have a connection.
You earn points by checking-in at events throughout NOAC and meeting new arrowmen. Whenever you attend an event, be sure to tap to check-in and earn points. Different events are worth different amounts depending on how difficult they are to achieve. In addition, visiting combinations of events can allow you to earn more badges which are worth event more points! You also earn one point per person you meet. Special guests and VIPS (like the National Chief) are worth extra points.
You can redeem your points for prizes. Remember that when you cash in your points for a prize, those points will be deducted from your points total in the game. Be sure to check out the list of today’s available prizes on the website and app. Some prizes come in limited quantities so be sure to cash in your points early. New prizes will be posted each day.
Come to the Ascent Prize room located in the Aspen Room at the University Memorial Center. The prize room is open from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Monday-Thursday. On Friday, the prize room will move to the Conference Festival.
Available prizes can be found on the app and website. If a prize disappears from the list, that means we’re sold out of that prize for the day.
Yes! The top 3 youth delegates at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the week will earn a $500, $750, and $1000 gift card to REI. Note that points cashed in for other prizes earlier in the week will be subtracted from your point total.
All youth participants are eligible. There are select prizes available for staff members.
Each time you check-in at an event, you can earn points. Each event has a point value depending on how difficult it is to earn. You can also earn 1 point per person you connect with. Some people like the National Officers are worth additional points if you connect with them. Through-out the week you can use your points to redeem prizes from the Ascent prize room. In addition, the top three individuals with the most points will earn a gift card to REI for $1000 (First), $750 (Second) and $500 (Third).
If you are under 13, we cannot publish your last name due to US Federal data privacy regulations. As a result, only your last initial will appear on your profile.
When you check-in to an event that distributes materials via the Ascent game, you can go into the App or web portal and click on the event you checked-in into. There you will be able to see any files, links, etc. that are associated with the event.
In the web portal or App go to the “Edit Profile” page. In the app, you will have to click on “more” first.
Yes, if you delete your connection to a specific arrowman, you will no longer be able to access each other’s profile information. To delete a connection, select the person on your timeline, scroll to the bottom of the page, and select Delete Connection.
You can add an email address, phone number, Facebook username, X (Twitter) handle, Instagram username, and TikTok handle. Any information you enter here will be visible to other people you connect with.
Treks combine a set of similar activities together to help you explore a specific topic or part of the conference experience. If you choose to complete a trek, you will earn additional bonus points and be eligible for a special patch. Completing the ACEs, Pacesetters, ARC, or Adventure Central Trek will allow you to earn the Trek patch. Note: Patches are only available to youth delegates, while supplies last.
